Auto Loans
Don't Settle for More When You Could Pay Less!

Shopping for the best deal on an auto loan can be confusing. It can be tempting just to take whatever loan the dealership offers when you choose your car and be done with it. After all, most auto loans are the same, more or less, right? Well that’s just it. The “more” can end up costing you hundreds of dollars over the life of your loan.

RECU wants you to have a loan that will cost you less. That’s why we offer auto loans with low rates, and no hidden pitfalls. Your rate could be as low as 4.5% APR*.

Often the dealer rates that sound so good carry many restrictions or cause you to forfeit a rebate that could be applied to a down payment. And most people won’t qualify for the lowest advertised rate.

What should you do? Before you sign anything
at a dealership, call the credit union first. Let us help you run the numbers so you won’t have to settle for more when you could be paying less.

*Annual Percentage Rate. All loans subject to credit approval.

Keeping ATM and Debit Cards In Working Order

It’s the weekend, your credit union is closed and you want some fast food… so you head to the ATM. But what happens if your ATM card doesn’t work? Don’t let it happen to you. Take care of your cards and you’ll always have access to your accounts!

Follow these precautions to keep your cards in working order:

  • Do not keep cards in an eel skin wallet.
  • Keep away from magnetic devices.
  • Keep out of the hot sun.
  • Do not store back to back with another credit card.

More Access to Your Credit Union

It’s easier than ever to make ATM withdrawals from your RECU checking account. The Credit Union 24 Network recently added 10,000 new ATM locations through an agreement with ATM Express. This addition provides you with access to a total of more
than 75,000 ATM terminals across the country.

Ways to Avoid ATM Surcharges
The majority of banks charge ATM surcharges now, and these charges are on the rise nationwide. Here are some ways you can avoid paying a fee for using your RECU ATM card at an ATM owned by a bank:

  • Stop using ATMs at banks that charge. The CU HERE network offers over 200 surcharge-free terminals in Georgia. To find the one nearest you, go to www.cu24.com and click on the ATM Locator. Type in the requested information and be sure to select “CU HERE Surcharge-Free Program.”
  • Look for Presto ATMs located in front of Publix supermarkets. While Presto machines have begun to surcharge some users, through an agreement with CU HERE, our members will still be able to make surcharge-free withdrawals. When you use your RECU card to withdraw cash at Publix ATMs, you’ll notice that the machine will show that a fee is being charged. Go ahead and accept the charge, but don’t worry — you won’t actually have to pay it.
  • Use your ATM card to make “point of sale”
(POS) transactions at many grocery and retail stores. Ask for “cash back” with your purchases, effectively making a free ATM withdrawal.
